We are a family business with only four cottages on beautiful Echo Lake in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. This area was recently highlighted in “Yankee” Magazine and the National Geographic Geotourism Project in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, a sustainable destination in Northeastern Vermont.
People seeking an opportunity to enjoy a peaceful environment have enjoyed their time in our farming community. A dirt road surrounds Echo Lake, and several farms dot the hillsides around the lake. A number of families have held reunions at White Birch Lodge; with only four cottages, there is room for nuclear families to have their own cottages while enjoying meals, games, campfires, and water activities together.
The following general information should be helpful:
- During the summer months, the cottages are rented by the week, Saturdays to Saturdays; many guests reserve their cottage upon leaving the year before. You are encouraged to make your reservations at your earliest convenience. For shorter stays, please contact the owners. A non-refundable deposit of $100 per cottage will hold your reservation.
- All the cottages have a fully supplied kitchen: dishes, utensils, a toaster, a coffeemaker, a microwave, etc.
- All have a bathroom with shower, and are heated with either a wood-burning stove or a gas heater. Wood is provided.
- We do allow pets, but please read our Pet Policy carefully before booking. There is a pet fee of $50 per pet. If you have further questions regarding your pet's stay, please contact us.
- Free high-speed internet and Weber grills are available for each of the cottages.
- Guests are kindly requested to provide their own sheets and towels.
